Joe Browne Musician: Joe Browne is a saxophonist, composer and educator based in London. After completing a degree in Music and English, he continued to study jazz saxophone as a postgraduate at Birmingham Conservatoire and Berklee College of Music in Boston. During this period he was lucky enough to learn from some great saxophone players on both sides of the Atlantic, including Julian Siegel, Jean Toussaint and Joe Lovano. On returning from the US he settled in London where he now works as a musician and educator. As well as a healthy schedule as a sideman in various jazz, pop and classical ensembles, his own group, Last Summer’s Tealights, can regularly be heard at venues across London and beyond. He has also enjoyed a stint in Ray McVay’s Glen Miller Orchestra, performed countless weddings and functions and featured on a number of recordings, soundtracks and TV films. Venues at which Joe has performed include The Royal Festival Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wilton’s Music Hall, The Vortex and The 606 Club, as well as international jazz festivals in France, Holland, Denmark and the USA. Music Leader: Joe is also an active teacher and music leader. He regularly leads workshops for the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The Wigmore Hall, Rhythmix, Arts First and Kent Music in various projects, often specialising in improvisation and group composition.

Russ Callaghan Grooms Musician:Russ is a multi-instrumentalist, music technologist and producer who has worked with a wide range of artists over the last 20 years, both touring and recording. His past successes have included being twice voted for Radio 2’s Single of the Week, an album on the Billboard 100 in the US and a Top Ten album in Japan. Music Leader: As a music leader he has been Musical Director for a number of youth and adult music projects, including ‘Heritage of the Blues’ and ‘Blues Cafe’ for the Deal Festival; REMIX in Harrietsham, Kent; Live in the Park, in Northfleet; Live and Direct at the Orpheus Centre (SEN/D) in Surrey; and music leader for the new ‘Orchestra of Unlimited Potential’ for young people with SEN/D in Surrey, which will perform at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015. |

Laura Callaghan Grooms Musician: Laura is a professional musician who also composes music: some of her concert works include chamber and orchestral pieces, which have been performed nationwide, and media music which has been broadcast on TV and cinemas across the UK. Music Leader: Laura has tutored many projects across the South East, recently including MD/music tutor for Orchestra ONE in Kent (an inclusive orchestra for all musicians from all backgrounds) and MD for the Orchestra of Unlimited Potential in Surrey (an ensemble for young musicians with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). Benji Clifford Musician: Benji has experience working in the media producing audio dramas, showreels and production music for a variety of clients. One highlight of his career is voicing the Daleks for the BBC Radio 1 celebration of Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary alongside Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith. Music Leader: Benji is based in the South East and works with young people teaching a variety of skills including DJing, music production, band workshops and performance skills. Anna Dolphin Musician: Anna is a artist, musician, and sound designer, Anna uses a range of musical tools across musical styles on projects that have included live improvisation, composition, audio-visual works, installations, interactive art and collaborative projects. Music Leader: Anna believes in the importance of access to creative expression for all, and works with acoustic and digital music, sound making, and multi-media projects in settings including healthcare, education, youth groups, early years, and outreach projects.Anna’s on-going research includes technological facilitation to increase access to creative involvement; creativity and wellbeing; and inclusive approaches to creative making. Qualifications include Certificate in Music Workshop Skills (Goldsmiths), Masters in Studio Composition (Goldsmiths), BA Hons in Music and Visual Art, Diploma in Jazz Studies. Sam Dook Musician: Sam has studied music technology at Northbrook College, he has gained musical experience playing guitar and drums in various bands. Since 2004, Sam has recorded studio albums, toured extensively and made festival, TV and radio appearances as a band member of the Mercury Prize nominated band The Go! Team. The band CUZ is a collaboration with the American bass player Mike Watt (Iggy pop and the stooges / fIREHOSE / the minutemen). CUZ songs featured on BBC 6 music radio programmes throughout 2014. Music Leader: Sam is a community musician, he currently works for Carousel as a music facilitator and band producer for the carousel choir project ‘the carousel singers’. He also work as a music tutor for DV8 training Sussex, delivering music programmes for young people. He is currently training to achieve a level 4 teaching qualification. Graham Dowdall Musician: Graham is a highly experienced musician/ music leader/ trainer. Since the eighties he has been a professional performing musician, working with many respected bands and artists ( including Nico and John Cale). He is still an active performer/ composer solo as Gagarin and in acclaimed bands Roshi feat. Pars Radio and Pere Ubu. Music Leader: Graham has worked for many organisations including Rhythmix leading workshops a wide variety of settings including youth clubs, Special Schools, Children’s Homes, PRUs, Secure Units. Graham has been teaching on the Goldsmiths CMWS course since 1998 and for the last four years has been the course director as well as designing a new Community Arts BA. He is part of the Training team for Drake Music, has completed research for Sound Connections in ipad use with young people in challenging circumstances and is working as a mentor for Live Music Now. Bela Emerson Musician: Bela is a cellist who has toured extensively worldwide (from Eastern European social centres to the Sydney Opera House and most things in between), been commissioned by BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction as a solo artist, and collaborated with innumerable other artists: musicians, filmmakers, dancers, live artists and acrobats. Music Leader: Bela is Goldsmiths trained community musician, passionate about helping people to connect and communicate through making music. Bela works as part of Rhythmix’s Wishing Well team as a musician in healthcare settings and with children and young people with complex needs in Brighton, Hove & Sussex. Jack Kingslake Musician: Jack is an experienced musician, producer, music leader and project manager who works across a huge range of genres and settings, ranging from large ensemble projects with talented young instrumentalists to one-to-one mentoring with young offenders. Having been based in Bristol until 2009, Jack cut his teeth running music workshops in deprived inner city areas, where he established the community-recording studio ‘Hi-Road Studios’, that provides music making opportunities to large numbers of young people. Music Leader: Jack has trained with Youth Music as an Advanced Music Mentor and has delivered mentor training and music mentoring for a number of different organisations across the country, in 2014 Jack took on the role of Mentoring coordinator for Rhythmix, in addition to his work as a music tutor. When not working with young people, Jack produces and performs as one half of the electronic music duo PiNTADA as well as producing and songwriting for a number of other artists. Zoe Konez Musician: Zoe is an active performing, composing and recording musician and recently released an album and toured the UK and Europe. She puts on gigs showcasing new music in London. Music Leader:Zoe Konez is a versatile music facilitator working in a range of settings across London and the South East. Zoe is passionate about encouraging inclusive music making for all, regardless of experience or ability.As well as being a Singing For Health facilitator and Music Mentor, Zoe is a trained Musician In Hospital - regularly creating musical connections with children and people with dementia in healthcare settings. Adriana Lord Romero Musician: Adriana is a charismatic singer, songwriter, actress and dancer with a multicultural background in contemporary dance, event production, Playback and Spontaneous Theatre. She has been a performer for over twenty years and has delivered singing workshops in prisons, schools, hospitals and hospices. She has been a founder of several choirs and theatre groups as well as being involved in cultural projects in the battle against AIDS, homophobia, racism and other sorts of discrimination. She has many vocal credits including soundtracks, commercials and cd’s, and has performed on radio and TV, including BBC1 and BBC 4, as well as theatres, festivals and venues across the UK, France, Brasil and Cuba. Music Leader: Adriana currently works as a teacher of singing, theatre and Spanish to young people in Brighton, and also collaborates with the theatre groups Teatro por y para Niños, Banyan Tree Puppet Theatre, MOSAIC and Luna Playback Theatre. Louise Maggs Musician: Louise is an experienced musician, playing regularly in numerous bands with differing styles of music. Music Leader: Louise has worked for Rhythmix since 2011, coming from a background of teaching guitar in schools and colleges in the South East. As a music workshop leader, she likes to use improvisation and alternative notation, on conventional ‘band’ instruments and ‘found’ sounds. Louise really enjoys leading workshops with young people from all backgrounds, and learns most about creating music from the participants themselves. |

Kate Murdoch Musician: Kate plays the ilimba, a harp like instrument from East Africa, and uses music and voice to create empowering and nurturing interactions. She also has a particular interest in improving the sound environment of clinical spaces, and recently launched an Arts Council-funded audio-visual project, Relax and Dream, featuring short films of the natural environment with original music. Music Leader: Kate has been working as a Musician in Healthcare for over ten years in hospices and hospitals with babies, children and adults. She trained with the pioneering French organisation Musique et Sante during their European “Train the Trainers” programme. Marina Perryman Musician: Marina is an established community musician, performing musician and qualified teacher, with a passion for promoting holistic benefits for individuals and communities through participation in music. Marina is a multi-instrumentalist and teaches guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals and music production technology. Music Leader: After qualifying to teach in 2011 with a PGCE from Brighton University, Marina trained on the prestigious Higher Education programme in Community Music at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Marina now delivers a range participatory music projects for young people in challenging circumstances, facilitates singing for mental health sessions and leads the Music Leader Training programme for Community Music.

| Anthea Prince
Musician: Anthea is a vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who regularly performs on the festival circuit - including Glastonbury 2013 & 2014 - and at gigs around the UK and abroad with her band Love Revolution (formerly Neads & Prince). She has released three critically acclaimed albums to date and runs her own record label. Music Leader: Anthea is experienced in delivering participatory music-making with children, young people, adults with learning disabilities and other client groups as well as 1:1 mentoring of young musicians. She is a huge advocate of the benefits of participatory music-making for health and well-being, and has set up a community choir inspired by the Singing For Health training she’s attended. Anthea specialises in songwriting and arranging, group improvisation and vocal work, using music technology throughout her practice. She is a qualified teacher, with experience of working in mainstream education as well as out-of-school settings with disabled children. Mike Rathbone Musician: Mike plays drums and percussion with two bands in London, and creates his own studio-based music. He has also written music for TV , radio and film. Music Leader:Mike has been working with young people for over fifteen years, helping them to create, record and perform their own music. Specialising in digital technology, drums and percussion, he works with small and large groups as well as one-to-one, providing creative support and guidance towards agreed musical goals. Based in London, he completed his MA in Community Arts at Goldsmiths College in 2008 and has since worked extensively in a wide range of schools and community groups in the South-East.

Juliet Russel Music Leader: Juliet Russell has worked for over 20 years as an international practitioner specialising in the voice. Her compositions have been described as”blissed out a cappella” by the Independent and her voice as”brilliantly haunting” by The Stage. Chris Thompson Musician: Christopher played a variety of instruments as a young person attending Rhythmix projects and went on to study various music courses as well as playing with many bands and artists. As well as being active in the uk live music scene Christopher runs a community recording studio that works in partnership with the local high school and community where young people learn industry standard skills such as well as being live sound engineering and theatre stage management. Music Leader: Christopher became involved with Rhythmix in the 90’s during the Oasis and Blur pop chart battle. Dave Tribe Musician: Dave has a background as a professional bassist in a variety of bands, having worked with and alongside Norman Cook, The Smiths, Aztec Camera, The Go-Betweens, Manic Street Preachers, The Brand New Heavies, Saul Davies (James), Russell Simins (John Spencer Blues Explosion), Sam Flynn (Eurythmics), Si Katz (Jamiroquai), Stomp and many others. Music Leader: Dave first started working with Rhythmix whilst employed by AudioActive in 2002 delivering workshops throughout the South-East in Youth Clubs, PRU’s and schools. Dave also worked on the Sambass project with Carnival Collective with whom he play with for 11 years. He’s also worked for Princes’ Trust, Access To Music, Brighton and Hove Music Service amongst others.

Charlotte White Musician: Charlotte White is a trombonist based in Brighton, UK. She specialises in reggae but has played in many bands covering a wide range of genres from afrobeat to jazz, soul and funk. She has played for reggae artists Hollie Cook and Solo Banton as well as recording for renowned reggae producers Prince Fatty, Dennis Bovell and Lee Francis. She has shared a stage with artists such as Stephen Marley, Method Man, Sean Paul, Max Romeo, Burning Spear, The Wailers to name but a few, as well as having supported The Stone Roses at their reunion gig at Heaton Park in 2012 as part of Hollie Cook’s band. Music Leader: Charlotte trained initially as an artist and first began workshop delivery when she was working as a sonic artist on an innovative scheme to encourage children to engage with their local soundscape, making sound recordings and a resulting composition from those. She has also delivered workshops for Creative Partnerships, Brighton Council among others, and is now delivering music workshops for Rhythmix, most notably as part of the delivery team on Orchestra UP, a youth disabled orchestra. Max Wheeler
Music Leader:Max has conducted thousands of workshops across the country teaching Rap, beat making, songwriting and production to everyone from young offenders to social workers to primary school children, special needs projects and community groups. His work on lyric writing with young people has been highlighted in a peer-reviewed journal by academic Luke Dickens. Max is author of online e-learning platform VIP Studio Sessions as well as the multimedia Hip Hop Coach Key Stage 3 music resource used in thousands of schools nationwide, with a book to follow.
