Make Waves offers young people in Hastings and Rother, both areas of high deprivation and instances of children in challenging circumstances, the chance to make high quality music.
At the end of each 8 week term the group comes together to perform.
The music always comes first in these sessions, and the vocational and social skills the young people gain from working together creatively.
Working with trained music leaders and youth workers, the young people work in groups to make music to go online, on CDs or to perform.
Currently make waves is for young people aged 11 to 19, and operates in 6 locations across the region.
Our partners on the project are Targeted Youth Support, East Sussex County Council and East Sussex Music Education Hub
