Joe Browne

Musician: Joe Browne is a saxophonist, composer and educator based in London. After completing a degree in Music and English, he continued to study jazz saxophone as a postgraduate at Birmingham Conservatoire and Berklee College of Music in Boston. As well as a healthy schedule as a sideman in various jazz, pop and classical ensembles, his own group, Last Summer’s Tealights, can regularly be heard at venues across London and beyond. He has also enjoyed a stint in Ray McVay’s Glen Miller Orchestra, performed countless weddings and functions and featured on a number of recordings, soundtracks and TV films. Venues at which Joe has performed include The Royal Festival Hall, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wilton’s Music Hall, The Vortex and The 606 Club, as well as international jazz festivals in France, Holland, Denmark and the USA.

Music Leader: Joe is also an active teacher and music leader. He regularly leads workshops for the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The Wigmore Hall, Rhythmix, Arts First and Kent Music in various projects, often specialising in improvisation and group composition.
